  • The Pew Research organization recently disclosed a major shift in the number of young people who identify themselves as Christian (or something like that... I didn't really read closely):

    I would suggest the struggle many young people face with Christian values (or the Bible in general) have to do with:

    1. feminism (is God FAIR?)

    2. evolution (is God INCOMPETENT? as per the Panda's thumb argument of Stephen Jay Gould, etc....or, of course, is God THERE AT ALL?)

    3. homosexuality (is God INTOLERANT or CRUEL?)

    No one wants to be seen as intolerant, etc., so the pressure is on to accept so-called "progressive" views on these subjects.

    To me, the case of the Bible must first be made plain, since it is typically misrepresented.
